Kosmos 57 was the uncrewed Voskhod 3KD No. 1 spacecraft launched on February 22, 1965 to qualify the inflatable Volga airlock for Voskhod 2. The airlock deployed and operated successfully, but simultaneous commands from two ground stations initiated an unintended sequence that ultimately triggered the spacecraft's self-destruct system in orbit.
