Lockheed U-2 Article 001 prototype

Article 001 was the first U-2 built by Lockheed's Skunk Works for the CIA's Aquatone reconnaissance program. After an accidental airborne episode during a high-speed taxi test on 1 August 1955, Tony LeVier conducted the first official U-2 test flight at Groom Lake on 4 August 1955, establishing the flight-test lineage of the U-2 family.
