Louis Blériot's Channel-crossing Blériot XI

Louis Blériot flew this Type XI from Sangatte to Dover on 25 July 1909, completing the first airplane crossing of the English Channel. The damaged aircraft was repaired, acquired by the newspaper Le Matin, and donated to the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers later that year. It survives in the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris as inventory 14272-0001.
