Lunar Prospector

Lunar Prospector was the physical U.S. spacecraft launched on 6 January 1998 to orbit the Moon. It mapped lunar composition, gravity, magnetic fields, and neutron signatures before its extended mission ended in a controlled lunar impact on 31 July 1999.
