Mikoyan-Gurevich SM-9/1 prototype

SM-9/1 was the Mikoyan-Gurevich prototype that opened the flight-test programme for the MiG-19 family. Senior Mikoyan test pilot Alexei Sedov flew it for the first time on 5 January 1954; the design became the first Soviet production fighter capable of supersonic speed in level flight.
