Ye-155R-1 was the first MiG-25 prototype and a reconnaissance aircraft used to open the Foxbat flight-test programme. It made its maiden flight on 6 March 1964, establishing the high-speed, high-altitude design lineage that became the MiG-25R and later interceptor family.
