Montgolfière No. 7

Montgolfière No. 7 was the fire-resistant cotton hot-air balloon that progressed from a tethered passenger ascent in October 1783 to the first recorded free human flight on November 21. Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent, marquis d'Arlandes, flew it across Paris from the Château de la Muette to the Butte-aux-Cailles.
