North American X-15-1

North American X-15-1, Air Force serial 56-6670, was the first of the three X-15 research aircraft. Scott Crossfield made the program's first unpowered glide flight in it on June 8, 1959. The aircraft ultimately completed 81 research flights and, piloted by William Dana on October 24, 1968, made the 199th and final flight of the X-15 program.
