Pegasus Flight 1

Pegasus Flight 1 was the maiden article of the air-launched orbital family. Released from NASA’s B-52 at 43,198 feet on 5 April 1990, the three-stage solid rocket successfully injected its Pegsat and NavySat payloads into polar low Earth orbit and validated the winged air-launch concept.
