Pioneer 8
Pioneer 8 was the physical Pioneer-C heliocentric solar-spacecraft vehicle launched on 13 December 1967. It studied interplanetary space and the solar wind for nearly three decades, and was last successfully tracked on 22 August 1996 after contact was recovered through its backup transmitter.
