RASAT

RASAT was a 93 kg Earth-observation and technology-demonstration satellite developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY. Its imaging system provided 7.5 m panchromatic and 15 m RGB ground sampling from an orbit of about 687 km. The spacecraft launched on August 17, 2011 and was retired on August 23, 2022, after eleven years of service against a three-year design life. RASAT validated domestic satellite equipment and strengthened spacecraft assembly, integration and testing capabilities. Its heritage included the flight computer, X-band data transmission and image processing, with supporting infrastructure such as cleanrooms, thermal-vacuum and vibration testing.
