ReFEx protoflight reentry segment

DLR’s ReFEx protoflight model is the instrumented winged reentry segment being integrated and verified for a VSB-30 flight from Koonibba. The October 2026 integration report describes final assembly, mass-property trimming and system-function checks before shipment. The article is intended to guide itself through a representative reusable-stage return and preserve measurements in protected recorders after the planned terminal hard landing.
