Santos-Dumont 14-bis

This is the original one-off 14-bis flown by Alberto Santos-Dumont at Bagatelle in 1906. After a 60-metre public flight on October 23 won the Archdeacon Cup, Santos-Dumont refined its lateral control and flew 220 metres on November 12, establishing the first official FAI aeroplane record. It is distinct from later museum replicas and scale models.
