Shenzhou 16 was the crewed Shenzhou spacecraft launched from Jiuquan on May 30, 2023 for the first crewed flight of China's space station application and development stage. It carried Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao to Tiangong, marking the first Chinese crew to combine a spacecraft pilot, spaceflight engineer, and payload specialist, supported science and station operations for nearly five months, and returned the crew safely on October 31, 2023.
