The first Sikorsky YCH-53A prototype was the development aircraft for the CH-53 Sea Stallion heavy-lift helicopter family. It made its first flight at Sikorsky's Stratford, Connecticut plant on 14 October 1964 and led the flight-test work for the CH-53A and later S-65 derivatives.
