Soyuz 38 was a Soviet Soyuz 7K-T spacecraft launched on September 18, 1980 for the Soviet-Cuban Intercosmos visiting mission to Salyut 6. It carried commander Yuri Romanenko and Cuban research cosmonaut Arnaldo Tamayo Mendez, docked with Salyut 6 on September 19, and returned the same crew on September 26 after a week-long research flight.
