Soyuz TM-6 was a Soviet Soyuz TM spacecraft launched to Mir on August 29, 1988 with Vladimir Lyakhov, Valeri Polyakov, and Abdul Ahad Momand. It docked with Mir on August 31, delivered the Afghan Intercosmos visiting crew and Polyakov's medical-monitoring assignment, then remained attached to the station as a lifeboat after Lyakhov and Momand returned on Soyuz TM-5. Soyuz TM-6 later returned Vladimir Titov, Musa Manarov, and Jean-Loup Chretien to Earth on December 21, 1988.
