Surveyor 2
Surveyor 2 was NASA's Surveyor-B lunar-lander spacecraft, launched in September 1966 as the second Surveyor mission. A failed thruster during the lunar course correction put the vehicle into a spin; it lost control and crashed near Copernicus crater on 23 September 1966.
