Ulysses
Ulysses was the joint ESA-NASA solar-polar probe launched from Space Shuttle Discovery on 6 October 1990. After a Jupiter gravity assist, the spacecraft surveyed the heliosphere over the Sun's north and south polar regions until operations ended in June 2009.
