Venus Express

Venus Express was the single EADS Astrium-led spacecraft launched for ESA on November 9, 2005. It entered Venus orbit on April 11, 2006 and returned more than eight years of atmospheric and plasma observations before contact was lost during orbit-raising manoeuvres on November 28, 2014; ESA formally ended the mission on December 16 after propellant exhaustion.
