VLS-1 V03 (SATEC / UNOSAT)
VLS-1 prototype V03 was being prepared at Alcântara Launch Center for Operação São Luís with the SATEC and UNOSAT payloads when a first-stage motor ignited prematurely on 22 August 2003. The prelaunch fire destroyed the vehicle, payloads, and launch structure and killed 21 Brazilian space-program personnel; V03 never flew.
